What Is The Best Cheap Smartwatch
The best cheap smartwatch overall is the Apple Watch Series 3. With a starting price of $199, it’s at the high end for a cheap smartwatch, but has the most to offer when it comes to apps, notifications, fitness tracking, and more. Plus, the Apple Watch 3 has Apple Pay built in, so you can use it to purchase items without having to touch anything. You’ll need an iPhone if you want to use it, but you’ll get the latest watchOS 8 that released with the Apple Watch 7.
The best cheap smartwatch for Android users is the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active, which is also $199, but has fitness tracking features including built-in GPS, plus a great design. The Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 is the premium alternative and the best smartwatch for Android overall.
Looking for the best cheap smartwatch under $100? Look no further than the Amazfit Bip, which costs just $70, yet has a heart rate monitor, GPS, and more. Also check out our Should you buy an Amazfit watch for more on that brand.
Best Barely Smart Watch
Casio’s PRT-B50, from its Pro Trek line, doesn’t have the bells and whistles of the other watches on this list, but it’s smart in other ways.
You can’t see notifications, but the PRT-B50 tracks steps and can automatically adjust the time to wherever you are in the world. The compass is handy not just for when you’re on the trail, but also when you need to get your bearings in dense cities like New York. Also, using the GPS on your phone, it offers up altitude readings, and it can use latitude and longitude information to note what time the sun rises and sets. You can check the temperature and barometric pressure too. To top it all off, you can place virtual markers along your route that are viewable through the map in the companion app, and it’s easy to make your way back to them using the watch. You can view all this data on the small but easy-to-read digital screen on the watch face.
Comes in a 50.8-mm size.
Amazfit Gts 2 Mini Review: Sporty Smartwatch Hits The Sweet Spot
The Amazfit GTS 2 Mini may seem like a niche spin-off, but its truly a great value smartwatch, and the device the full GTS 2 should have been.
It fixes most of our complaints about its bigger sibling, sacrificing only dubious features for a huge price cut that restores its status as a great value smartwatch.
Its packed with sensors and offers impressive sports tracking features. While many will be drawn to tracking of stress, SpO2 and advanced sleep monitoring, the GTS 2 Mini doesnt quite nail all of these. However, it makes for a rich experience within a slick app.

Best Smartwatches For Accurate Step Counting
Walking is a super-easy form of exercise and it’s free. If you not a fan of more intense exercise aiming for a daily step target is a good, gentle way to build up your fitness. Any smartwatch will record your step count, but whether it does it accurately or not is another matter.
The smartwatches below aren’t the best on test overall, but they’re the best ones if your main concern is step tracking. They track steps accurately both during walks and runs and during everyday household activities.
We’ve only included cheaper models here. There are more expensive watches that track steps accurately, but if this is your main concern you needn’t pay extra for features you won’t use.

While most smartwatches can work with both iOS and Android devices relatively interchangeably, some benefit from being paired with specific smartphone brands. The Samsung Galaxy Watch Active is both affordable and a great choice if you prefer Samsung or other Android devices.
You get a few bonus abilities if you do so. For instance, while this smartwatchs battery can go for five days by default, you can use your Samsung device to add additional power for a quick boost if its about to run out of juice. That functionality is totally missing if you try to use this with an iPhone device.
Beyond that, this Samsung watch is a good pick overall. Though there are only three color choices, the watch is light and comfortable, and youll be able to choose either aluminum or stainless steel faces depending on your durability preferences. You can also heavily customize the watch face, which is pretty minimalist at first but can be heavily altered to be more complex depending on your likes.

Suunto 7 Smartwatch
A truly sporty smartwatch
Those who want in-depth tracking in the form of an attractive but sporty smartwatch will love everything about the Suunto 7.
Hybrid smartwatches are unique in many ways. Most importantly, you often can’t tell it’s a smartwatch at all. The Fossil Hybrid HR comes with just enough features to claim the ‘smart’ title, but it’s not identical to some of the other picks on this list. For instance, you won’t have a touchscreen, so all your navigation is done with the three side buttons. It also doesn’t have a colorful display, but at least you get a solid two weeks of battery life in return.
You can customize the display to your liking, which will include at-a-glance info of your choosing, such as weather, steps, and notifications. However, besides basic activity/sleep tracking and heart-rate monitoring, don’t expect a well-rounded smartwatch experience from the Fossil Hybrid HR. It’s only a hybrid, after all. You’ll miss out on GPS, NFC payments, music storage, and other premium features.

Letsfit Smartwatch Id205l Review: Battery Life
The ID205L has great battery life, though it varies quite a bit depending on how you use it. I had no problem getting the advertised 10+ days of battery life with what I consider to be regular usage , though GPS workouts seem to be the biggest potential battery drain. It has pretty epic standby life, too: I charged the ID205L when I first received it, but set it aside when COVID-19 started going crazy. It lasted about four months on standby . In fact, I was starting to get pretty annoyed with its heart rate monitor lighting up in my drawer every few hours.

Best For Android Owners
Samsung’s Galaxy Watch4 and Watch4 Classic are the first to use instead of the company’s homegrown Tizen operating system. This brings broader app support. While third-party apps are still trickling in since the switch to Wear OS, expect many more to arrive over the next year.
Surprisingly, Samsung managed to retain nearly the same interface and many features from its previous smartwatches. You still get a bright OLED screen, smooth performance, and accurate health and fitness tracking features, including heart rate and SpO2. Unfortunately, the electrocardiogram and blood pressure monitoring features only work if you have a Samsung phone. The latter isn’t even available in the US yet. Battery life is lackluster, with the smaller models lasting just a day. If your wrist can manage it, I recommend sizing up to get the more capable battery. The Classic version of the watch is made of stainless steel instead of aluminum, and it has a mechanical rotating bezel around the screen for navigating the interface. It’s nice, but not quite worth the $100 extra.
Watch4 comes in 40-mm or 44-mm sizes. Watch4 Classic comes in 42- or 46-mm sizes.

Ticwatch E2 Best Overall Cheap Smartwatch
Bluetooth ConnectivityAccepts Calls:Weatherproof:GPSBand Size:Display: Weight:Colors:Battery Life:Heart Rate Monitor:Connectivity / LTE:Mobile Payments / NFC:Compatibility:Automatic Workout Tracking:Sleep Tracking:Charging:OS:Processor:Onboard Storage:
The TicWatch E2 is a sterling example of both quality and budget friendliness. While its far from the most expensive smartwatch on the market, it still has a variety of excellent features that make it well worth your consideration.
For example, the TicWatch E2 can provide all of the main smartwatch functions you would expect from a pricier competitor, such as phone support, excellent GPS tracking, and even a heart rate monitor. All of this is even better because it runs on the Wear OS from Google, so its slick and intuitive to operate no matter whether youre used to using smartwatches or this is your first one.
The 24-hour heart rate monitor and built-in GPS work in conjunction with one another to offer a variety of fitness-focused features, so you can easily track your exercises and monitor your workout goals. Google Fit and TicMotion are both included as well, and can help you stay motivated thanks to digital coaching.
Plus, this waterproof smartwatch is ready for swimming since its designed to be totally water-resistant down to about 50 meters.

What Is A Smart Watch
A smartwatch is a wearable device that can be worn on the wrist. Like smartphones, they use touchscreens, offer apps, and often record your heart rate and other important parameters. The Apple Watch and Wear models have led to more and more consumers seeing the benefit of wearing a mini computer on their wrist.
Xiaomi Mi Watch: Software And Smartwatch Features
- Custom OS
- No payments or built in music
- Amazon Alexa works well
So what exactly is running on the Xiaomi Mi Watch? Is it Wear OS? Is it Xiaomi’s own in house software? Is it a combination of the two?
The answer is that Xiaomi has gone solo for the operating system, despite using a skinned version of Google’s OS on its square Mi Watch.
It uses its own Xiaomi Wear companion app that’s available for Android and iOS devices and offers its own interface to shape your on-watch interactions.
We’ll start with the watch software first, which on the whole is pretty straightforward to get on with. From the watch face, you can swipe and left for widgets like activity stats, music controls, weather updates and most recent sleep data.
Swipe down and you’ll see your notifications stream with the only actionable option available is to clear them when they stack up. The notification support is pretty standard fare. When they land, you can tap to expand and it does work with third party apps so you can quickly tell where they’ve come from.
The notification experience certainly works better with some apps than others, in terms of what you can view from the watch. They do at least feel well optimised to the screen and if you just want basic notification support, there were no major problems to report here.

Amazfit Gtr 2e: Battery Life
The GTR 2e packs the same capacity 471mAh battery, but with the loss of features like the speaker and richer music features, Huami has revised the kind of battery performance you can expect here.
It suggests you can get 24 days in typical use, which is up from the 14 days promised on the GTR 2. There’s a jump to 45 days up from 38 days in basic mode and 12 days compared to 6.5 days in heavy usage compared to the GTR 2. You can expect the same 2.5 hours to charge from 0-100%.
We found that touted 14 days in typical use was once again very ambitious, and feels like a very familiar story to the GTR 2. This is a smartwatch that is good for a week, but you need to scale back some features to get into double digit days’ worth of battery.
We had the screen brightness set to auto mode and opted against the always-on display mode. We also had continuous heart-rate monitoring turned on along with notifications and 30 minutes to an hour of workout tracking. We still found daily battery drop-off to be around 15-20%.
- Same sleek design and great screen
- Lots of sports modes and GPS
- Battery claims didn’t stack up
- Temperature sensor not useful
- Heart rate accuracy
