The SteelSeries Arctis 9 is a headset that’s built for incredible flexibility. That’d be plenty on offer from any headset, but SteelSeries has also built the headphones to support more than one connection at the same time. So, you can connect the headphones to your platform of choice over the 3.5mm cable or USB receiver and then connect to your phone to listen to music, podcasts, or even chat on discord.
If you’re on PC, you’ll also get support for DTS Headphones:X for a boost from surround sound. All the sound comes through capable 40mm drivers. And, SteelSeries will help you tune into the right sounds, as you can use the ChatMix dial on PC and Mac to shift the balance between voice chat and game audio, making it much easier to hear your teammates or your enemies as the situation requires. Bluetooth Headsets Vs Bluetooth Headphones
Stereo headsets aren’t just for listening to music. They also make calls, often quite well. So if you’re thinking about a pair of wireless headphones to rock out to, you may not need a separate mono Bluetooth headset.
That said, stereo headsets are usually bigger and heavier than mono headsets, and while an over-the-ear pair of headphones may be great at listening to calls, the outbound noise cancellation abilities of their microphones may not be up to heavy street noise. The stereo headsets in this roundup are optimized for calling, often with boom mics that help focus your voice and exclude outside noise. What To Look For In A Wireless Gaming Headset
There are a few key things you should look out for when buying a wireless gaming headset with the battery life being one of the most important. Your wireless gaming headset’s battery life is of course intrinsically tied to how long your play sessions will be. Most options available today offer a decently long battery life between 10-20 hours. The only real exception to this is the Razer Nari, which only lasts around eight hours due to its integrated lighting and haptic feedback systems.
Secondly, since we’re talking about wireless gaming headsets here and not Bluetooth headphones, most of the options here connect with a dedicated wireless dongle. With that in mind, most gaming headsets connect over a 2.4GHz band and rarely a 5.0GHz band. That said, some wireless gaming headsets also come with Bluetooth connectivity which allows you to pair it to a second device like your phone. The added Bluetooth connection is a nifty feature if you like to listen to music or podcasts and take calls while you game.

The Best Headsets And Headphones For Your Home Office
Whether you need to take calls or block out distracting noise, these headphones and headsets are ideal audio companions for working from home.
If you’re working from home, you need the proper equipment to be productive. Depending on what you do, the right headphones, headset, or speaker can help make working from home really work for you.
For a job that requires you to take a lot of calls, you should consider a dedicated Bluetooth headset. These devices can be monoaural or stereo , and feature powerful boom microphones with noise-cancelling circuitry that blocks out any sound other than your voice. The microphones are the big deals on these headsets, though you can also find some that deliver very good sound quality.
If you don’t need to take many calls but want to keep out any distractions, look for a pair of noise-cancelling headphones. They use outward-facing microphones to read any distracting noises and generate waves to cancel them out before they hit your ear. Active noise cancellation circuitry can be expensive, but it’ll help you stay focused by muffling noisy pets, kids, roommates, traffic, or construction. These headphones generally don’t have boom microphones, so they aren’t quite as good for phone calls.
With that in mind, here are some headphones and headsets that really work for us.

Best Wireless Gaming Headset For Playstation: Steelseries Arctis 7p Plus
Compatible with PS5, PS4, PC, Nintendo Switch, mobile, Oculus Quest 2
The SteelSeries Arctis 7P Plus has dethroned Sonys own Pulse 3D headset as the best option out there for PlayStation gamers, despite costing $69 more. Its one of the companys most complete headsets yet in terms of features, connectivity, and comfort. Really, the previous version nailed the comfort already, but this year, it added on more battery life, a game and chat audio dial, and USB-C charging .
If youve read anything about the older Arctis 7P, thats probably still true about this newer one. It has SteelSeries signature ski goggle headband that suspends its weight without pressing down. The ear cups rotate to be stored more easily or lay on your chest. It still includes a USB-C audio transmitter , making it compatible with a wide range of devices, including the Oculus Quest 2, Switch, and much more. Its these small additions that elevate this years model higher in our rankings than before. Also, it comes in black if you prefer that color over white.
SteelSeries boosted the advertised battery life from 24 to 30 hours per charge a claim that it meets. I wont shut up about USB-C charging, and in this case, it really just makes a lot of sense to have since its the same charging port as the DualSense controller. This is the first of many SteelSeries headsets to ditch Micro USB for the reversible USB standard.

Best Multiplatform Wireless Gaming Headset: Logitech G435 Lightspeed
Compatible with PC, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch
For some time now, Logitech has been on the cusp of making a gaming headset thats good enough for console gamers, mobile gamers, and PC gamers alike. It has finally nailed the balancing act with its new $79.99 G435 wireless gaming headset. While this headset likely wont satisfy most enthusiasts because of its lack of a boom microphone and its minimal noise isolation, that doesnt take away from the G435 being a lightweight and comfortable delight to use.
The G435 ships with a USB-A audio transmitter and is compatible with most platforms that have that port, including PCs, PlayStation consoles, and the Nintendo Switchs dock. It isnt compatible with Xbox, though. Ive also had success using a USB-A to USB-C adapter to plug it into my Oculus Quest 2, MacBook Pro, and other devices.
The G435s killer feature is its Bluetooth mode, which lets you connect to a phone so you can remain available to accept calls while you use the headset for something else via the 2.4GHz transmitter. You can also just use them as standard headphones via Bluetooth. Its far from the first device to combine Bluetooth with 2.4GHz wireless, but the G435s lightweight design makes it an easier companion to carry around and use for work and play.

How Do You Test Wireless Gaming Headsets
Many of the qualities youre looking for from a wireless headset are the same youd hope to find in any audio equipmenttone, build quality, and reliability leading the charge. As such, we listen to each review model while playing different genres of games, listening to music, and watching movies with bombastic sound effects and surround mixesthink less Werner Herzog, more Chris Nolan.
There are a few wireless-specific elements we need to test for, too: battery life, charge time, range, and latency. The former is pretty self-explanatory, though, in addition to an everyday use battery life test, we also run the headset at full volume to discover how quickly the charge drains under those conditions. To ascertain charge time, we well, we charge the headsets and note how long it takes.
Range and latency are trickier to test scientifically. However, having a pleasant walk around the house gives a good indication of range, and latency ultimately comes down to perception. After several days of use, were in an excellent place to make the call on a headset with all that taken into account.
