Great Headset Bluetooth Works Great

Bose A20 Aviation Headset without Bluetooth
  • Pros: Awesome ANR and great comfort
  • Cons: Expensive as heck
  • Review:I recently bought the Bose A20 because I am transitioning from flying for the military back into civilian commercial flying and was looking for a great headset that will accompany me everywhere. The Bose has great ANR, really makes a huge difference! Ear seals are soft, but if you are working in a hot flying environment, You will sweat a lot. Apparently over time the earseals wear out. Somebody recommended searching amazon for “VEVER replacement ear pads cushion replacement for Bose Ear pads”. The lady who runs the skydive place had them on her headset and they seem to be a little firmer and sturdy than the OEM versions.

Great Product But It Shouldn’t Cost Over A Thousand Though

  • Pros: Nice finishing, noise-cut technology really works
  • Cons: there is a clip that is suppose to hold the chord but it isn’t strong enough
  • Review:Headset really does the job of cutting outside noise, keeping the communication less confusing therefore helping to cut fatigue as well.

  • Review:I was debating Bose A20 with other brands, but I decided to purchase A20 even though its price is higher than others. I am very happy with A20 best in the market.. It is also very convenient to order in mypilotstore.com because of trading options.

  • Pros: Excellent noise cancelling, Bluetooth hookup to iPhone, clear mic
  • Cons: In line control unit position is up side down due to rear jacks in EZ
  • Review:This headset is very comfortable, quite, and love the blu tooth capabilities. I was using an older D& C passive headset, so the difference was huge. What really surprised me was how much better my transmissions seemed to be through the mic. Not only could I hear myself clearly but others heard me better as well. Only minor issue for me is that in the Long EZ my jacks are behind my seat, so the control unit is not positioned ideally.

You May Like: Best Noise Cancelling Bluetooth Headphones For Phone Calls

I Would Definitely Buy This Product Again

  • Pros: Best noise reduction and comfort I’ve experienced, very nice additional features.
  • Cons: very nice free BosI would have said the price, but I actually got a very good Bose Bluetooth speaker for free with it, so nothing really.
  • Review:I heard the Bose A20 is good, but I suspected that it is comparable to my 15 years old and now dying LightSpeed XL and David Clark H10-13XL which I thought were pretty good themselves. Turns out, I was wrong: the A20 is much, much better, vastly exceeding my expectations. The noise reduction is much better, the comfort is extraordinary, the Bluetooth connection to the phone flawless, the folding mechanism very convenient, the controller box well designed, and even the carrying bag is very nicely thought through. I’ve had it for only two months, so I can’t vouch for durability – I’m planning to post an update in another 15 years 🙂

  • Pros:
  • Cons: Cord needs to be a touch longer. Maybe 10 inches at the most.
  • Review:This is a great headset! Its everything I expected. The blue tooth is a piece of cake to operate, especially in flight and the noice canceling works perfect. I do wish the cord was a little longer but other than that its a 10! I would recommend this headset to any Pilot, recreational or Professional.

Great Except Have To Power On Each Time Really

Bose A20 Headset Review Bluetooth demonstration
  • Pros: Sound
  • Cons: Manual power on for each flight for each headset.
  • Review:Have used every series of Bose since the first, love them but they always seem to miss just one thing. On the A-20 it is the fact that even though my units are ship powered I have to after engine start press and hold the on button for each headset. This may sound like a minor squawk, but it is completely unnecessary if they had just left the slide power switch form the X’s. Since I usually have a non-pilot in the front right seat I have to dig out that one to turn on as well as it takes longer to explain than do myself. If it seems like a minor complaint, remember, twin turbine, plenty of switches to flip to get underway, do not appreciate Bose thinking I needed 4 more .

Bose A20’s The Best Thus Far

  • Pros: Comfortable, light weight, and function well.
  • Cons: The volume wheels are easily displaced.
  • Review:An improvement over the Bose 10X which I used for 10 years. 30 years prior to that DC H10-30‘s, 40’s, 80’s, DCNC, and a couple of Sigtronics, one of which was NC. The A20’s are superior. That said, the volume control wheels should have a greater frictional resistance to preclude movement. In large radial engined airplanes, the vibration serves to displace the wheels/knobs, attenuating the signal. Moreover, Bose should consider a mono version. The need for stereo when piloting an aircraft is not necessary.

  • Pros: Light weight, active noise reduction
  • Cons:
  • Review:I absolutely love this headset! It is extremely light and comfortable. I was amazed at how much of a difference the ANR makes when flying. I tend to fly without the ANR simply because I’m still in flight training and I like to be able to hear the engine when performing maneuvers. This quality headset will serve you well for years!

  • Pros: Quality, noise cancellation, everything advertised
  • Cons: Still looking
  • Review:I saved for quite a while to buy this and I am glad I did. It’s almost scary how quiet it is in my 150. I enjoy the blue tooth capability. Music is nice and hearing the com transmissions is even better!

Best Headset I Have Ever Used

  • Pros: light weight, quiet, clear crisp audio
  • Cons: price
  • Review:I have 2 of the bose A20’s, along with the older bose headsets, the A20 is lighter & preforms better than the older bose. I also have one of the lightspeed Zulu 2‘s, the lightspeed is a great headset but I would spend the difference to go to the A20’s, it’s just better.

  • Pros: The best of the best. Compact design, Superior Noise Canceling
  • Cons: Price is high but its the best!
  • Review:I ran this against the Sennheiser S1‘s and the A20’s are the clear winner! They are much more compact which is important when looking over my shoulder. The S1’s were constantly catching on my seat belt. The A20s seldom have this problem. The A20’s were also noticeably better on sound quality and noise canceling. Bottom line, I returned the S1’s because of a failure and went with the A20’s and am very happy with them. I will be purchasing another 4 in the near future for the rest of my family.Pay the extra money, they are worth it!!!

It Lives Up To All Expectations

  • Review:I have found the headset to be everything Bose advertised. It is light on the head, comfortable on the ears, the bluetooth works a treat and above all very quite. Too Effiecient For The A320

  • Pros: Comfort, good sound quality, noise cancelling
  • Cons: Hard to hear engines, automated call outs, chimes.
  • Review:The noise cancelling with this product is too good for an already relatively quiet A320 cockpit. It’s hard to hear the engine pitch changes and automated call outs. However, if I were a GA pilot flying a Cessna or something like that it would be perfect.
