GULIkit Route Air Bluetooth Adapter for Nintendo Switch | Switch Lite PS4 PC | Review | Unboxing
  • Plug the GuliKit Route Air Bluetooth Adapter into the USB-C port found on the bottom of the Nintendo Switch.
  • Turn your Switch on. The GuliKit won’t work if the Switch is off or in standby mode.

  • Hold down either the GuliKit’s A or B button for three seconds until the white light blinks quickly beneath it.
  • Follow the individual instructions for your Bluetooth headphones to set them to the pairing status.

  • Place the headphones and GuliKit near each other until paired.
  • You’ll know pairing was successful when the GuliKit’s white light becomes constant.

  • Now you’re all ready to play your Nintendo Switch in handheld mode without worrying about any cables.

    Experiencing An Issue With Connecting

First, make sure your headset is properly charged and turned on. This is something we all look over from time to time. If you can connect your headset to another device but not your Switch, it might not be compatible with your console. If you’re unsure, contact the adapter’s manufacturer to work through the pairing process.

    How Is The Experience

According to the manual, all you need to do is pair it once and itll automatically pair with your output devices whenever its plugged in. I find this both true and false. I initially paired it with my Lypertek Tevi and found it hard to pair at first. I had to make sure all bluetooth-enabled devices are turned off before I tried pairing GuliKit Route Air with my Tevi. It took a while but eventually I managed to pair the two. However, subsequent pairings are still wonky, thus forcing me to start the pairing process again whenever I want to use my Lypertek Tevi with my GuliKit Route Air.

Pairing with my Edifier speaker is a smooth experience on the other hand. Once paired, GuliKit Route Air will always attempt to connect with my speakers automatically with no trouble. If plugged into the Nintendo Switch when undocked, GuliKit Route Air draws from your Switchs battery. When plugged into the dock, it draws from your dock instead. I find it really troublesome since I use my speaker for my laptop and the plugged in GuliKit Route Air keeps reconnecting to my speaker with a loud beep. It does get annoying since I need to turn off power for my dock or unplug the GuliKit Route Air instead, but its a small inconvenience I could live with.

Improve Your Nintendo Switch Audio Experience With Gulikit Route Air A Bluetooth Transmitter That Does It’s Job Perfectly

When playing my Nintendo Switch undocked, I find myself discontent with the quality of the music from its speakers. Sure, I could just jab my earphones into the headphone jack and be on my merry way, but I started appreciating a wireless setup if it can be done. Ive heard of bluetooth adapters/transmitters for Nintendo Switch, but I was skeptical of the seemingly bulky size of these products, as well as its usefulness. All a bluetooth adapter needs to do is to allow my bluetooth earbuds to connect to it and pipe sound through it. Sounds easy enough but are these adapters able to project the sound without delay? Does it disconnect often? Ive read enough reviews to tune out any bluetooth adapter/transmitter ads for Nintendo Switch. It doesnt seem like any third party companies have nailed it yet.

3 years in, third party products improved by leaps and bounds. I have a that I really want to use so I could enjoy the best sound experience there is when gaming on my Nintendo Switch. The opportunity came when I saw a sleek and thin bluetooth transmitter in question for the Nintendo Switch in an ad. Ive been using GuliKit Route Air for 2 months now, and I think Im ready to give my verdict – its unexpectedly good at what it does!

    Sleek And Thin Design

I dug around and found that the GuliKit company actually made a bluetooth transmitter before GuliKit Route Air. Oh boy, its so bulky. I could see how this is a problem if youre playing undocked. Itll easily get in the way, plus you cant use it if your Switch is docked.

Their new product GuliKit Route Air however, is thin enough to stab it into your Nintendo Switchs charging port and forget about it. The second best thing about GuliKit Route Air is being able to use it while docked. It comes with an extension so you can plug it into your docks USB port.

The Nintendo Switch has been capable of Bluetooth connectivity ever since it first released in 2017 and has even used it to connect wireless controllers. However, it wasn’t until the recent 13.0.0 update that we could use it with the best wireless headphones as well. This means that the setup process no longer requires a wireless adapter like it did in the past. Just note that your headphones must be compatible with the Switch to work. I’ll show you how to do it. I’ve also included adapter methods in case the Bluetooth connection for your headset of choice doesn’t work.

GULIkit Route Air Bluetooth Adapter For Nintendo Switch ...

For this, you’ll need a Bluetooth transmitter with an audio-in jack. The one we used for this guide is the TROND 2-in-1 receiver, which included a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable in the box, so it has everything you need.

  • The Trond 2-in-1 Bluetooth transmitter uses an internal battery, so you’ll need to use the included charging cable to get it to a full charge. The light around the power button is red when the battery isn’t full and turns off when charged.
  • When fully charged, unplug the Trond transmitter from the charger.

  • Make sure the switch on the Trond transmitter is on TX mode.
  • Plug the included jack adapter into the TROND 2-in-1 Bluetooth transmitter.

  • Plug the Trond’s AUX cable into the headphone jack on the Nintendo Switch.
  • Hold down the MFB button for three seconds to turn it on.

  • Double tap the MFB button to activate the pairing mode.
  • Follow the instructions for your Bluetooth headphones to get them to the pairing status.

  • Place your headphones, and the adapter near each other and allow them to pair. You’ll know that pairing was successful when the transmitter’s blue LED stops flashing and remains constant.

  • With that last step completed, you’re ready to play your Nintendo Switch in handheld mode while using your wireless headphones. Just make sure not to accidentally hit or put pressure on the inserted dongle, as this can permanently damage the headphone jack on the Nintendo Switch.

Nintendo Switch bluetooth audio slim adapter – GuliKit Route Air

The third best thing about GuliKit Route Air is the dual streaming capability. You can listen to your Nintendo Switch blasting Animal Crossing music through your earbuds AND your speakers at the same time! Ive personally tried it and found that one of the outputs will always have a slight delay in piping out the sound. Overall, the playback experience is serviceable. Its not something Ill use often but I could see this be an issue if the sound is not matching up to the game on screen. Playing rhythm games would be a terrible experience!

Geek Review: Gulikit Route+ Bluetooth Audio Transmitter For Nintendo Switch

Nintendos Switch has proven to be a great product, but the portable video game system is lacking on several features, and one of them is Bluetooth connectivity with a headset or speaker.

Thanks to GuliKits Route+ Bluetooth Audio Transmitter, the feature is now possible. So bid farewell to messy wired headsets and accidents from wire tugs.

The GuliKit Route+ is super easy to use right out of the box. Simply remove the dust cap and plug it into the Switchs USB-C port. Hold down the pairing button for 4 seconds until the LED indicator blinks red and blue. Then set your desired Bluetooth headset or speakers to pairing mode. Pairing takes place within seconds, and youre all set. Subsequently, it only takes a second or two for the paired headset/speaker to auto-connect the moment they are powered on.

The Route+ even includes a free USB cable adapter for Switch owners to plug it into any of the USB ports on the Switch dock, so wireless audio isnt compromised!

Another nice touch to the design of the device is how it caters to Switch owners who use third-party protective cases, thanks to a slight extension of the plastic housing at the top of the device. However, youre out of luck if you want to use the Switchs kickstand, since the Route+ protrudes from the base of the Switch.

Just how much power does the Route+ draw from the Switch? GuliKit claims it to be a minuscule less than 1%, so its pretty much negligible.
