You can build your PartyBar speaker with two Neodymium speaker drivers and the Nsiways NS4263 dual 3W SMD chip. The Nsiway chip is used as an amplifier to deliver a high-quality sound. Add Foam Tape Stuffing And Sew It Up

For one of your last steps, get your cotton-like Acousta-stuf shoved in there, leaving a little breathing room around the driver and baffle. Next, apply foam tape around the rim of the enclosure where the back panel of the housing will make contact with the rest of the box.

Shove that stuffing in there and apply foam tape around the edges.

Finally, pop the back panel on and screw it in place. Tah-dah! You just made your very own speaker.

Bluetooth speakers are a dime dozen, to the point where theyre essentially just a commodity item. But, the vast majority of the options on the market are boring rectangular affairs that will play your music and do nothing else. Youve probably got a couple of them sitting in a drawer somewhere, and you likely dont care if you ever find them again. This DIY Bluetooth speaker designed by Maggie Shah is far more exciting, and her tutorial will walk you through how to build your own.

Unlike most Bluetooth speakers that have forward-facing tweeters, this design incorporates a downward-facing subwoofer and upward-facing tweeter to give full 360° sound projection. The body of the device is made from a frosted acrylic cylinder packed with 40 WS2182B individually-addressable Adafruit NeoPixel-style RGB LEDs. Those give the design a really nifty light show effect that you wont find in a dollar store Bluetooth speaker. Best of all, it uses NFC to pair with your smartphone, so you dont need to fool around with annoying manual pairing.

If your home theater system is 5.1-7.1-9.1 and you need it to make wireless. Usually, people purchase these kits for the rear and surround sound and also for the subwoofers.

Wiring front and center channels are so simple. If you cant find a speaker like that, then buy another amplifier for that receiver. Connect the speakers transmitter with the AV receiver or amplifier and then attach the speaker with the receiver.

If the speakers purchased receiver doesnt have an amplifier with built-in features, then buy one for your speaker. After buying, connect that amplifier with the receiver and then attach the speaker with that amplifier. But if you will buy a receiver having a built-in amp, it is more convenient for you.

If you need to make the passive gadgets to stream the music from a smartphone and if someone has an amplifier, it can utilize any of the above-mentioned Bluetooth receivers like AudioEngine B1 or Wi-Fi type receivers like Bluesound with Node 2 and SONOS Connect.

But the disadvantage of these receivers is that they do not have an amplifier with built-in features. So you cannot connect these receivers directly. Instead, you have first to attach them to the amplifier and, after that, connect the amplifier with it.

Dsp Programming And Crossover Point

If you payed close attention the the YouTube video. You see me do some measurements, and settings in the DSP. I measured the tweeters by themselves, and I noticed a dip at 3 kHz. This can be caused by 2 things :

  • The tweeters are too close to one another and are interacting destructively.
  • The rough 2 cm edge creates an unwanted reflection that creates a cancellation at 3 kHz.

For this reason, I decided to make the crossover point higher, since the mid-bass does not exhibit this behavior. Therefore, I setup the crossover point at 3750 Hz and the dip is gone.

For the rest of the EQ I will upload the file so you can use it directly. Take note that I also use a high pass filter at 35 Hz on the bass drivers. You plan on not cranking the speaker up, I suggest you remove that.

Connect The Receiver With The Transmitter

Connect the receivers and transmitter and switch on the system. Paly and audio on that audio system and test that if your network is working or not. Adjust the speaker placement or any other setting as required.

If it is working correctly after connecting all the outputs with inputs, then congratulation, you have completed the procedure.

Glue And Assemble The Wooden Housing

Raho spreads glue into the pre-cut grooves of the wooden housing.

If you come to the class or buy the kit, pre-cut wood pieces of the housing will be ready for you. They already fit together, so its just a matter of gluing. Smear glue in the grooves, stick the puzzle together and then clamp each corner applying pressure evenly. Pete uses 2 sets of strap clamps and gets the strap lengths ready to go before beginning gluing.

Do this step first, so the glue can set and dry while youre working on the guts of your speaker. You should let it sit clamped up for at least 1 hour.

These 2 sets of strap clamps apply pressure evenly to each corner of the housing as the glue hardens.

Install Female Socket For Ac To Dc Adapter

Find the ideal spot for the socket and drill a hole the right size for it. Then,

  • Heat the terminals on the rear of the socket with the soldering iron and add a little amount of solder to them.
  • Remove the nut from the sockets threads, insert the socket into the hole, replace the nut, and tighten.
  • Locate the amplifiers power cord, which should have a male plug on one end and exposed, stripped, and tinned wire on the other.
  • Cut a portion of the paired red and black DC power line long enough to attach the amplifiers power cord to the already-installed female socket. On each end, strip both ends and tin both wires.
  • Connect the positive and negative wires to the amplifiers power cord.
  • Solder the opposite end, both positive and negative, to the female sockets proper terminals. The center pin is typically connected to the positive terminal, but check the power adapter to see whether the center pin is connected to the positive or negative terminal.
  • Wrap electrical tape around the soldered connections to keep them from contacting and shorting out.

How To Design Loudspeakers

If the button doesnt have the correct amp rating, it will burn out in high loads. However, if the button has a too low voltage rating, something else happens, because voltage doesnt burn the button. I used a 24V antivandal button, because it looks cool, but I havent got away with it. The voltage rating has to do with the switching capabilities of the button. If the rating is low, it cannot open the circuit fast enough. An electric ark forms between the poles and electrons pass, even though the circuit is open. As a result, you press the switch to turn off the speaker and it wont shut off. Thats why you find that ugly green button at the end. I had to swap it. Antivandal buttons usually max out at 24V.

Can You Use A Bluetooth Speaker With A Pc

Many modern PCs support a Bluetooth connection. However, not all of them will, and the older your PC is, the less likely it’ll have Bluetooth connectivity. You can check if your computer has Bluetooth in a few ways.

This is a speaker on the low-end of the DIY spectrum that wont break the bank and due to the low cost, wont be too hard to make.

Your shopping list should include a PVC T-valve, Bluetooth audio module, micro USB charger module, a 3.7V battery, a 100µF capacitor, and two 3W speakers.

How To Connect A Bluetooth Receiver To A Pair Of Passive Speakers

Passive technology speakers do not require a separate power source. With passive speakers, you must amplify the line level signal with an amplifier or A/V receiver.

The Bluetooth receiver may be directly attached to any available audio input channel. If youre utilizing a power amp.

When connecting a Bluetooth receiver to a television set via an A/V receiver, you should select the HT Bypass or Direct In channel.

You can utilize HT Bypass or Direct In if you do not want your A/V receiver to be able to adjust the volume, gain, or EQ settings. This is because the Bluetooth gadget acts as a preamp.

If your A/V receiver does not offer HT Bypass or Direct In, you can still connect it to an empty audio channel. As a result, the sound quality of your Bluetooth device will be significantly reduced.

To prevent interfering with the volume settings of other devices, adjust the volume over Bluetooth.

Lay out the components on the front and back panels, mark their centers and drill the appropriate-sized holes following the kit instructions. Some of the components require material from the back of the panels to be removed in order to fit. Use a Forstner bit to remove enough material from the back to allow the components to be fastened with a nut on the front side of the panel. For larger holes, youll need to use a hole saw at the drill press. Drill partway through one side, then finish the hole from the other side to avoid major chipping.
