Is Your Phone Discoverable

Even if Bluetooth is turned on, your phone itself might not be discoverable. This means that a Bluetooth device you havent yet paired cannot see your phone.

To make it visible to other devices, open the main Bluetooth settings. On Android, phones remain discoverable so long as you stay on that screen.

On an iPhone, your phone will be discoverable when Bluetooth is turned on. It will search for Bluetooth devices available for pairing when you go to Settings > Bluetooth.

Pairing Your Ihome Speaker With An Apple Iphone Or Ipad

  • First, turn on your iHome speaker system by holding down the power button until you hear a tone
  • Turn the iHome iDM12 to Bluetooth mode by sliding the switch from aux to Bluetooth
  • Make sure the iHome iDM12 is within range of the Apple device 30 feet or less
  • Next, turn on Bluetooth on your iPhone or iPad. Go to Settings > > Go to Bluetooth > > Press Bluetooth to turn on.
  • Now, on your iHome speaker, turn the Bluetooth signal on by pressing the Play, Pause, Pairing button and holding for 2 seconds. You will hear a double-beep, and an amber light will flash on the front of the speaker
  • Go back to your Apple and you should now see iDM12 on the screen. Press on it to pair. If you are asked for a password, enter 1234.
  • The amber light on your iHome iDM12 should stop flashing and turn to green, indicating that it is paired with the iPhone or iPad. Some iHome speakers may have a voice announcing that the devices are paired.
  • Apple should also indicate that the two devices are paired
  • Play music!

Please note that after this initial pairing procedure, the iHome iDM12 will automatically pair with the device every subsequent time you turn it on. If it ever fails to do so, make sure the speaker is fully charged, the Apple is charged and turned on, and they are in range. If the automatic pairing still doesnt occur, follow the steps above to re-pair the devices.

Landline Phone Without 25mm Port:

If your landline phone doesn’t have a headset port, you’ll be required to manually pickup, and hang up your phone handset to answer/end calls with your wireless landline headset. Most customers add a Handset Lifter to go with their wireless headset, so you’re able to answer/end calls when away from the phone.

That means, when there’s an incoming call and you’re away from the desk, you don’t have to run back to the phone, or if you’re at the phone, you press the on button on your headset to be on a call. Rather than having to physically pick up your handset, then hang it up when done.

  • Plug in the AC power to the wall outlet, then plug the other end into your headset charging base.
  • Unplug your landline phone handset from the base of your telephone, then plug the other end into the back of your charging base with the symbol of a handset.
  • Connect the included RJ9 phone cord to the back of your wireless phone headset charging base.
  • Plug the other end of the RJ9 phone cord into the base of your landline phone where the handset would normally plug into.

Why Is My Bluetooth Not Connecting To My Phone

If youre not sure whether to connect via USB or Bluetooth, the answer may depend on your preferences. If you have a large number of files to transfer, USB is the fastest method. Its also the most secure because its a direct connection. Bluetooth is relatively secure, but it has the potential for being accessed by outsiders.

If you don’t have a USB cord or want to quickly cast a screen or send a smaller file or two, Bluetooth is sufficient. It’s not a good option for working between Apple and PC devices, because Apple has designed their products to work best with other Apple devices. All of the workarounds for this issue involve using third-party software solutions that typically cost money.

Of course, if you back up your phone to the cloud regularly, for instance to Dropbox or Google Drive, you can also avoid connecting your phone to your computer altogether. Simply download the files you want from the cloud backup to your computer. It’s an extra step but it eliminates compatibility issues for people working between Apple and PC devices.
