Turn On The Controller

Xbox Elite Controller Series 2 Review: 360 Thumbpads, Bluetooth, USB-C, Wireless Charge & More!

The most simple step of the bunch is to simply turn the controller on. Making sure its properly and fully charged is a must by plugging in the charge cable to either the Xbox console or a charger of any compatible kind. Once charged, press the big Xbox button on the front to turn the controller on, and it will flash a light to notify you that its active.

Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 Bluetooth Problem

I try to connect my Xbox Elite wireless controller series 2 via bluetooth on my Ipad Pro 11 inch 2018, but it can’t make connection or won’t be recognized. The series 2 controller supports bluetooth. I can make connection with the other older version Xbox One S wireless controller immediately.

I’d make a phone call with Apple support and they said that maybe the problem could be that the Xbox Elite controller series 2 won’t be supported and isn’t compatible with Ipad.

I want to know guys if you had the same problem and I want to ask if there will be an update in the future to solve this problem?

Microsoft’s Xbox Elite Wireless Series 2 Controller Is $40 Off Again

If you missed your chance to get Microsoft’s Xbox Elite Series 2 controller for $140 on New Year’s Day, here’s your chance to grab it a discount again. The controller is $40 off its usual price of $180 on Microsoft’s website right now, and that almost matches its $135 Black Friday pricing last year. Released in 2019, the Xbox Elite Series 2 typically sells for $180 and is aimed towards avid gamers.

Its official page says it was “designed to meet the needs of today’s competitive gamers” and that it “features over 30 new ways to play like a pro.” The controller is highly customizable and ships with a set of six thumbsticks of different shapes and sizes, four paddles, two D-pads, a charging dock, a carrying case and a USB-C cable. Its battery can last for up to 40 hours, and yes, it can connect to your device via Bluetooth or USB-C to play both Xbox and PC titles. You can also save up to three custom profiles with one default for the controller, so you can easily switch between them, depending on what you’re playing.

Tough To Scuff Tough To Clean

The material on the Elite Series 2 controller remains a smudge magnet, however. There’s a strange uncanny softness to it that is easy to mark and smudge, but tough to permanently scratch. As such, it’s relatively easy to clean the outer shell with a regular cloth and cleaning agent, but other parts of the controller are far less easy to clean.

The thumbsticks have this miniscule lip that makes them great for grip, but gathers dust like a sponge. Cleaning it can be a chore too, as the textured rubber seems to grip onto dirt as much as it wants to grip onto your thumbs. The same can be said about the grip seams, where you’ll probably need to grab a tooth pick if you want to keep this thing clean over time. A cloth just doesn’t cut it.

Drivers were released in June 2014 to allow Xbox One controllers to be used over a USB connection on PCs running Windows 7 or later. The Xbox One Wireless Adapter for Windows is a USB dongle that allows up to eight controllers to be used at once wirelessly.

Per a partnership between Microsoft and Oculus VR, the Oculus Rift CV1virtual reality headset initially included an Xbox One controller, up until the launch of the Oculus Touchmotion controllers.

On Windows 10, support for the controller is built-in, including support for wireless audio when using the wireless dongle or USB cable . The controller is also manageable via the Xbox Accessories app, whose features include button remapping , input tests, and firmware update. On Windows 7 or 8.1, drivers are required, and the aforementioned features are not available.

Microsoft also supports Bluetooth-enabled Xbox One controllers on Android, specifically listing support for Minecraft: Gear VR Edition on certain Samsung Galaxy devices.

On Linux, Xbox One controllers are supported by the xpad USB driver. There also exists an alternative xpadneo driver, which supports some controller revisions that are not supported by the xpad driver, as well as additional features. Some of these additional features, such as driver support for the trigger rumble motors, aren’t even supported on Windows 10.

The Xbox Elite Series 2 Is The Best Controller Around And Is Cheaper Than Ever This Black Friday Season

Xbox One Elite 2 Controller – Wireless Bluetooth Pairing Cronus Zen (Quick Start)

    ByDave Jamespublished 19 November 21

With a $40 saving you can still pick up the Xbox Wireless Adapter with it and it’ll still cost less than full price.

The best PC controller is now cheaper this Black Friday than its ever been before. Okay, the Xbox Elite Series 2, now with $40 off, is mostly designed for the ol’ console player, but it’s still the finest example of joypaddery that you can plumb into your gaming PC. The standard Xbox controller has a great design, but the original Elite and this upgraded Series 2 version, took that and pushed it even further.

There is a weight to the Xbox Elite Series 2 controller that you just don’t find with other pads, and rather than that making it feel cumbersome it just feels like reassuringly solid build quality. The new sticks feel more accurate and responsive and the triggers are outstanding, with three different levels of depth to them, from full analogue to almost microswitch.

The Elite Series 2 also includes a built-in rechargeable battery where the original Elite still used the AA batteries that Microsoft’s pads have always fallen back on. You can either charge it via the USB Type-C cable, or via the handy dock situated inside the lovely carry case it ships with.

Xbox Elite Controller Series 2 Re

Our initial review of the Xbox Elite Controller Series 2 was rather glowing, owing to its beefy battery life, convenient charge dock, ergonomic design, and customization. While it felt more durable than any gamepad that preceded it in our initial review, you can never really tell how something will survive over the long term without, well, time.

The previous Xbox Elite Controller seemed rock solid at the outset, but came with a hidden point of failure, most notably in its rubber grips which, frustratingly, would warp and fall off over time. I personally experienced that with two Elite controllers previously, so it’s understandable that there have been some concerns with how this new Elite Series 2 controller would hold up.

I decided to write up my experiences with the controller three months in to let you know how it’s doing. Turns out, the answer is pretty damn good.

I also purposefully haven’t recently cleaned up the controller for this re-review, so you can get an idea of dusty it might look a few weeks out of the box.

Xbox Wireless Adapter/xbox Elite Series 2 Wireless Controller Disconnects Constantly On Windows 10

Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2

Ive recently acquired a Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 , and Im in love with it. When I built my computer a couple years ago, I didnt add a Bluetooth receiver, meaning I had to also buy a wireless adapter from Microsoft in order to use the wireless functionalities of the controller.

When it works, it works great. But a couple days ago, I noticed the controller would disconnect every couple of minutes and I had to unplug/plug the wireless adapter back in. Its incredibly frustrating, and I scoured the Internet trying to find a solution. It took me a while, but I finally figured it out. Ill list all the solutions I was able to find, with what I think fixed the issue first. Keep in mind, Ive basically tried everything at this point so I cant be positive if this one solution is what fixed it or if it was a combination of all of them.

Xbox Elite Wireless Series 2 Design And Features

The new controller visibly changes little about the previous Xbox Elite controller, with a few tweaks to the styling. Most of the body eschews the shiny, metal accents found on the original, going instead for a darker metal. Gone, too, are the green accents of the original. Its a strictly monochrome affair for the Elite Series 2.

It does have a few new additions. Most notably, it adds Bluetooth connectivity, enabling the controller to work wirelessly with more computers and mobile devices, though the 3.5mm headphone jack wont handle audio while connected via Bluetooth. It also has profile indicator lights and a USB Type-C connection. The controller comes in a carrying case and includes a wireless charging pad that sticks into the case and hangs onto the controller magnetically. The charging pad works both outside and inside the case, as theres a small port to let a USB plug into the back of the case.

Shape-wise, the Elite Series 2 is similar to its predecessor , but the grips are different. The palm grips of the controller have a diamond-textured rubber material all the way around, an upgrade from the material that had previously only appeared on the bottom of the palm grips. The main body has a soft touch coating.

The Elite model, like its predecessor, adds a few extra buttons to the undercarriage of the controller in the form of four paddles. This gives everything but the pinky fingers something to do while playing games. It also has a profile switch button.

      • “Limited Edition” “Spartan” and “Brute” controllers were released in September 2007. Two versions were available, each of which feature Halo 3-themed artwork from artist Todd McFarlane. Each version of the controller also included a Master Chief figurine .
    • Red “Limited Edition” controllers were released in September 2008. The controller features ‘black accents’ with the D-pad, analog sticks, triggers and parts of the casing all changed to black instead to the usual gray. It comes bundled with a Play & Charge Kit with a red rechargeable battery pack. The red controller is also included with the Limited Edition Resident Evil 5 Xbox 360 Elite console released in March 2009.
    • Green “Limited Edition” controllers were released in mid October 2008 in Europe, Asia, and Latin America. The green controller has a D-pad with 16-way functionality, instead of the 8-way D-pad used on all previous controllers. This controller was released alongside Pro Evolution Soccer 2009.

The Xbox Controller Just Got Better

Putting design aside , the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 boasts some pretty impressive specs.

There are 18 assignable buttons on the controller, including the four paddles at the back. Inside the box, the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 includes a thumbstick adjustment tool that allows users to change the thumbstick tension manually.

It’s possible to physically customize the controller by changing the D-Pad and thumbsticks, where you can indulge in retro throwbacks like the Xbox 360 thumbstick caps.

In addition, you can make adjustments to the thumbstick sensitivity curves via the Xbox Accessories app.

Compared to the Xbox Wireless Controller, this level of customization offers players the upper hand in a match, heightening the overall Xbox gaming experience.

One-upping its predecessor, the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 adds an extra customization profile slot, making a total of three slots that save independent mapping and responsiveness.

Players can easily switch between profiles in an instant by pressing the central button above the tri-lights.

      Alerts And Time Profiles

      • The phone alert status profile and alert notification profile allow a client device to receive notifications such as incoming call alerts from another device.
      • The time profile allows current time and time zone information on a client device to be set from a server device, such as between a wristwatch and a mobile phone’s network time.

Microsoft Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 Adds Bluetooth Capability

Apart from the Project Scarlett, Microsoft also announced an updated Xbox Elite 2 controller over the existing Xbox Elite controller in E3 2019.

      Now more ELITE than ever

Microsoft claims to have completely redesigned the internals of the Xbox Elite 2 controller.

The thumbsticks now have adjustable springs for changing the tension to improve precision. The hair trigger locks have been shortened to increase responsiveness, allowing users to fire faster in games. You can switch between three profiles, depending on the types of games and personal preferences.

The Xbox Elite 2 controller now sports a USB Type-C port for charging and connection, as well as Bluetooth capability. A 3.5 mm headphone jack is still present for plugging in gaming headsets. The internal rechargeable battery can last for up to 40 hours. The controller will work with Xbox One and Windows PC.

The Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 will start shipping in November 2019. It is now available for pre-order for $179.99 USD at Microsofts website.

Elite Series 2 Controller Constantly Disconnects From Pc How Can I Fix This

How to tell if you Xbox one elite controller is Bluetooth

I recommend tracking down a Microsoft Xbox adapter for PC. I had no issues once I did that. Not sure if they are still being made but it makes it so that the controller connects to the USB dongle adapter instead of the Bluetooth of the PC. The dongle basically emulates the Xbox connection and its 2.4ghz.

There are 2 versions. The smaller one is the newer one.

There is a bundle, the new Xbox series x controller comes with a free wireless adapter. I highly recommend it.

Get the Wireless Adapter. The Bluetooth connection is unstable.

It was Bluetooth for me as well. Try disconnecting all other Bluetooth devices and give it a test.

whats it called? is it this: ?

Just to echo everyone else, the only way I solved this was by getting the official Microsoft wireless dongle. Literally have not had a single dropped connection since connecting it back 3 months ago.

I will add, I got no idea how Microsoft can fuck the Bluetooth connection so hard. My controllers work on every other bluetooth enabled device including Android flawlessly. Windows 10 however is another story. Like come on, you make the OS and produce the controller, others got it figured out !
